A small free app to install next to Folia Files from the App Store. It does for it what the App Store rules forbid an app to do.

What it adds to Folia Files

Everything stays in Folia Files: the companion works in the background, with no window.

Open / Save assistant

Your favorites and recent folders next to the dialogs of all your apps.

Encrypted vaults

Encrypted disks that open with a password, and encrypted archives to send.

SFTP and clouds

SFTP servers, S3, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive… mounted as disks (with rclone).

Sync

Copy or mirror a folder to another one or to a cloud, on demand or at regular intervals.

Full Mac care

Protection (login and background items, permissions), performance (maintenance tasks) and space taken by the cloud.

Finder actions

The Finder's “Get Info” and .DS_Store settings on network and USB volumes.

Installation in four steps

    Download and install it

    Open the disk image and drag Folia Files Companion to Applications.

    Open it once

    It turns on its background service; macOS adds it to the login items (System Settings › General › Login Items).

    Accessibility, for the assistant

    In its window, click “Allow…”, then turn on Folia Files Companion in System Settings › Accessibility.

    That’s it

    Folia Files sees it within seconds: the new tools appear. Settings › Folia Files Companion tells where it stands.

Safe by design

It only does a fixed list of operations, and only for Folia Files: it checks the signature of the app that calls it and never runs a command it is given. It collects nothing. Signed by Wonderlink SL and notarized by Apple.

For Folia Files downloaded from the Mac App Store. The website version already does all this.
