Who we are
Folia Files is made by Wonderlink SL, España (“we”). We are responsible for the processing described on this page. Contact: support@foliafiles.com.
The app
Folia Files works on your Mac. It has no account and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Your files, file names, search index, text recognized in images, suggestions and settings stay on your Mac and are never sent to us.
- Update check (website edition). Once a day, Folia Files downloads a small file from foliafiles.com to see whether a new version exists. The request contains no personal data; like any web request, it shows your IP address to our host.
- License. Activation happens offline: Folia Files checks your key's signature on your Mac.
- Connections you set up (SFTP, clouds, network shares) link your Mac directly to those services. Passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain and cloud sign-ins happen in your browser, with the provider. We never see them.
- Apple Intelligence features, when available, run on your device.
- App Store edition. Apple handles the download and the purchase; Apple's privacy policy applies to them.
This website
We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising on foliafiles.com. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect them against abuse.
Purchases
Website purchases are processed by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects what is needed for payment, taxes and fraud prevention (such as your name, email address, country and payment details) under its own privacy policy. Paddle shares with us your name, email address, country and the details of your transaction so that we can deliver your license.
Your license
To deliver your license and let you recover it, we store your email address, your name if you gave it, your license key(s), the transaction identifier, your language and the date of purchase. License emails are sent through our email delivery provider. We keep this information as long as you may need to recover your key, and as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete it at any time; we will keep only what the law requires.
Support
When you write to us, we use your message and email address to answer you, and keep the conversation as long as it is useful to help you.
Legal bases
We process data to perform our contract with you (delivering and recovering your license, support), to meet legal obligations (accounting and taxes), and in our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
Service providers
Paddle (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and license storage) and our email delivery provider process data on our behalf or as independent controllers. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict its processing. Write to support@foliafiles.com. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and the date above.
